Woodland babe

For Bernice having a baby at 40 was a lifetime dream come true. At 39 weeks she asked me to take some special pregnancy photos of her belly as she wanted some memory images better than her mirror selfies. After talking to her for a while she told me about this special place she just loved along a little track to the beach just near her place, and how she visualised it being a unique setting for her photos. We chatted some more and together we developed a concept of the look we wanted to create. I brought along my flowey fabrics and we headed off to this enchanted wooded place behind the dunes where the twisted dead tree trunks reminded me of an enchanted forest scene from Tolkein. Perhaps I felt some connection already with this unborn child, for when Bernice heard me say this she was taken back and amazed as the name they had chosen for their soon to be born little girl was from Lord of The Rings. Until now she had told no one so I felt honoured to be let in on the secret. A week later little Arwen Josephine entered this world and she is one of the most beautiful natured baby girls I have met. We ventured back to that enchanted place in the woods for her newborn shoot and created some magical images.I’d like to thank Bernice and Matt for allowing me to be so adventurous with their newborn on this photoshoot.
